Merging learning and laughing

About Us

The Average Unicorn is the brainchild of founder Andy Boehnlein. Utilizing his background in stand up comedy and group facilitation, he was able to create a firm to better help educate people. Research suggests that appropriate humor injected into material will help participants retain more of the information. Using these methods, the team brings groups together interacting with each other in ways they will remember and talk about for years to come.
Andy serves as a Co-Lead Facilitator for the LeaderShape Institute, an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator, and has served as the University of Michigan's Recreational Sports Talent Management Team Chair. He holds a Master's Degree from The University of Akron and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton.
Andy and George have presented at Saginaw Valley State University, Kent State University, and Oakland University, among numerous other colleges and universities. Additionally, they have spoken at various state, regional and national conferences including the NIRSA Annual Conference and as the keynote presentation at the Michigan Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (MIRSA) State Workshop and NIRSA Region III Student Lead On Conference.

George Scott Baker, Demotivational Speaker, is on a mission trying to teach people how to be the most average you that you can be. Come learn how to utilize resources, commit 100%, and the importance of now; all while not having to be perfect, only average. Even if you used to be an overachiever, there is still hope for YOU!

Brought to you from the mind of former stand-up comic Andy Boehnlein, this unique presentation offers a fun and playful twist on the typical student development presentation. After causing a physical reaction to stress which forced him to medically withdrawal from school his junior year, Boehnlein has learned tips and tricks how to transform a stressful life into a purposeful one.

While relaying a tongue in cheek message, all is rooted in the skills necessary for one to succeed in the real world while still being okay with being you.
